Ok i have the late 2008 model MacBook 2.0GHz, should i save up and also get:

Time Capsule 500GB Refurb (Apple Site) ($190)

    Built-in iSight camera
    Illuminated keyboard
    ($2,199.00)

    Thanks,

in my opinion the second one will do it..
but one thing is in there I don't like: the 17inch glossy widescreen tft - 17inch widescreens are ugly and in my opinion not useful...I'd use the money in another way (even 17inch 4:3 screens are better than a 17inch widescreen - believe me, go into a shop and look at/compare them)

some reasons for the second one:
-core 2 duo cpus are powerful and perform better because of better architecture
-4GB RAM will do as similar as 6GB RAM would do (of course depends on your apps/games). there wouldn't be too much difference in games nor in usual apps, only some RAM intensive apps like video editing, photoshop and so on will do a bit better with 6 GB
-320 GB harddrive is well enough, there is no need for an expensive 160 GB SSD - I think the space is what counts - of course SSDs are silent and fast but at the moment still not worth the price (I think); conventional HDDs are fast too and not too noticable in terms of noise
-keyboard is a thing you should decide on yourself - if you like bluetooth then take it - but just for work or entertainment a wired illuminated keyboard will do so too^^ and it is also nice to look to
-I don't know how your opinion is in regard of refurbished things but I assume that you see them as new (because of the first list with more refurb. stuff) so do I

Thanks for the info but it won't be a TFT display it will be LED backlight, it is the new unibody not the old aluminum.

Well those are nice but i really want either the 17 inch MacBook Pro or the Apple Cinema display.

oh okay I misunderstood what you've meant by 17inch widescreen^^ I thought you wanted to buy an external display for your macbook but it seems you mean the built in display like the builtin isight cam a few entries behind x)

then "my" decision would be very clear:
go for the new "refurb." mac book pro with the core2duo cpu - it will be much better in terms of speed and all the other things because it is one system which is tuned to do the best (of course you can still tweak it but for an end user it should be fine)
