Which leopard version? (new to mac)

    i am a new owner of a macbook 13" white, and its used not a brand new pre installed with leopard.It has tiger 10.4 already installed. my question is can i load any leopard os x such as (10.5-10.5.8)? or is there an upgrade dvd that goes from tiger to leopard? thank you for all your help in advance.

    yeah just goto snow leopard is awsome and it only cost $30

    can i just install as if it would be an upgrade from tiger? will i lose anything in the process?

    depends if your macbook is a intel is it cause if it is you can go to snow leopard

    yeah its an intel core 2 duo and i have 2gb of ram and 2ghz proc, but i don't want to wipe the hard drive because i don't have an external hd as of right now to back up my data .

    i think if you upgrade from tiger to snow leopard you will have to do a full install of the OS but im not for sure on that i could be wrong maybe someone else can confirm it

    I got an Intel iMac. I went from Tiger to Snow Lepoard. Took a while, but i didn't lose anything. Actually, i got space back on my hd

    thank you very much for you response and having first experience. and thanks to everyone else.
    last thing failsafeisntsafe, did you do the hold down the option key or just pop in while tiger was running.

    Just popped it in. You've got to restart the comp once, then the whole installation process begins.
