ok, so i am picking up a 2g iphone tonight. i previously had one last summer and used ziphone to jb it.

never had any issues and it worked like a charm on tmobile.

ended up selling it before winter and now i am picking another one up.

after reading some info/rumors/etc... some have said that the ziphone software was really someone elses that he skinned to be his "own".

my question is, what JB/unlock options do i have now, and which one is considered the "best" and most stable?

If you read the instructions in the tutorial at the top of this page you will have your answer. It details all the proper strps for the 2G iPhone. It really just sends you to another page that has everything you will need as well as a lot of pics to make sure you get it right.

It is the quickpwn methods for 2.2, tho 2.2.1 is out for the phones right now you may want to wait untill they have the new quickpwn for windows up and do it with that one.

    matt,

the reason why i posted this is the fact that the turtorial never mentioned anything about ziphone.

so to me, that turtorial didnt have the different ways to unlock/jb the iphone, just the one that was mentioned....

    thats why i asked

ok, thats the answer i was looking for.

even though you can still get ziphone, you wouldnt recomend it? personally, it was really easy to use and was stable (for me).

I didnt even know that ZiPhone was up to date for the 2.2 phones, but i would still highly recomend the QuickPwn way. Its what id say 98% of the people here use. Its by far the most accepted method as it is the Dev-Teams official software.

ZiPhone is just the Dev-Teams software in his own skinned GUI.

Not for 2.2.1 yet, There is also no ZiPhone for 2.2.1 yet.
But i would do the jailbreak with the 2.2 update, seing as 2.2.1 added almost nothing. Or wait a day or two for the windows one.
