There are so many firmwares with so many issues. Can someone just tell me which is the best one to be on now and why? I'm using 1.1.2.

There's no reason to upgrade that is majorly important.

If you don't mind redoing your iPod, then 1.1.4. It is very easy to hard-jailbreak it with ZiPhone or the special modded ZiPhone with the .bat file, and it seems to be a little faster and better. Why not just have the latest firmware?

I'm wary of upgrading to the latest because of app compatibility issues.

Actually, I think the case is leaning more to the side such that more apps are compatible with the later 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 firmware versions than the earlier ones.

i had to restore my ipod touch few days ago because summerboard problem on 1.1.3 and then i tried 1.1.4 by ziphone... i dont notice so much different with 1.1.3...

but yeah i agree that if you dont mind restore your ipod, going to 1.1.3/4 is worth the value... as there are more apps going to 1.1.3/4 compatible...

just backing up the point thats been made,

upgrade to 1.1.3 = restoring it a couple times over again
upgrade to 1.1.4 = forced restore and much sshing to get apps to work
stay at the 1.1.2 = nice stability, good compatability, and easy jailbreak.

i am currently on 1.1.2 after several jailbreaks to 1.1.3 and 1.1.4

all if this is from experience, so i dont want anyone crying to me "thats not true"

Alright looks like I'll stay 1.1.2 because it's the most stable. 1.1.4 came out shortly after 1.1.3 so that is a rocky transition.

I just wanted to know if I'm missing anything by not going to 1.1.4
The only thing I think I'm missing is a longer battery life. I heard from some people the new firmware makes the battery last a tad longer.
