    My AV Cable + USB just came from apple, i must say that apple has some bugs to work out with these cables. Either im misinformed or the tv-out feature is just buggy but the transition between whether video is outputted to the TV or played on the ipod screen seems like its a decision made by the mind of my ipod, I mean when i have the tv-out feature enabled and i play a video, it outputs video to my TV sometimes, after closing and reopening videos numerous times will it output to my TV and it seems that only certain videos seem to cooperate with the video part of my cable at all. Any advice here? Perhaps its the apple branded AV cable? Also to those interested in the cable, it drains the battery really fast.

    Same exact problem here. I dont have the mortgage cable from apple, but a $15 dollar knock off. (component) Audio works fine. Could the video cutting in and out have something to do with apple's authentication chip??

    Thanks

    Does anyone know where to get a working cheap av cable for the 2nd gen itouch,
    like at a local store ive seen varing prices everywhere

    Walmart... apples av cable 99.99 *Which i think is a scam since on apple sells them for less and its THE apple av cable*
    and ive seen them at radio shack for less.

    also seen a 3rd party av cable for 39.99

    was wondering if anyones seen one cheaper then 39.99 and if so where???
    and does it matter what kind i get or is the official apple one the best?

    There is something different about AV cables from Apple and AV from other companies. Apples AV cable is rewired to run different colors through the dock or if connected directly to the iPod. Thta means that if you use an iPod AV cable that is not from Apple you will have to rearange the colors. Here's how:
    Red RCA plugs into the TV's yellow RCA jack;
    Yellow RCA plugs into the TV's white RCA jack;
    White RCA plugs into the TV's red RCA jack.
