The original iPad came out in April 2010. It is BARELY 2 years old. It should still be supported if the iPod touch 4, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are. It wasn't a technology decision.

No way I would update the iOS on my iPod Touch ever and if I have to be forced to use it then, NO WAY! I been waiting to use Do not disturb and if that's a iPhone only feature then forget it! I'm sorry but it's not worth the update to Version 6 at all!

The T-Mobile G1 can support turn by turn. And that was the first Android phone out in the market. Why can't a iPhone 4 with double the specs can't handle it?

    And no FaceTime over 3G?

Maybe because maybe S-Voice is still new?

I wouldn't compare the extent of the fragmentation to that of Android but i do see all of your points.

Every Where I See People Complaining About What Device Gets What Features. Is It Such A Hard Concept To Understand That Apple Is A Company And Most Companies Try To Get As Much Money As They Can, It's a Business. They Drop Older Devices To Get Customers To Spend Their Money On The New Device. Its All About Money. Giving Older Devices Features Of A Newer Device (Ex. Siri Which Is A Major/Main Selling Point Of The 4S ) Does Not Earn As Much Money As Getting People To Switch To A Brand New Device.

Exactly my point in my post.
If you are upset you don't get the features you were hoping for, JAILBREAK and stop crying :p
Not trying to offend anyone lol
but really, people get worked up for no reason. Jailbreaking was created in part to help this 'problem' people see with apple. So use it! It's a free solution. I'm going to do so to get Siri on my iPad 2. I think apple has the right to do what they do, and I have the right to modify the software to my likings as well. No need to become hostile, or to point out how badly you want to switch to android, each OS has its own perks. Most of you have been using apple products for long enough to know they restrict their devices when new ones come out. If you're a new apple costumer, you should have looked into it and gone with droid if it's that big of an issue to you. The real point is that we don't have any right to complain. Yes it could be seen as 'bad customer service' or whatever, but it was YOU who chose to buy an idevice whether or not you knew it would one day be restricted in this way. Apple has the right to do what they think is best, just like you would if you were running apple and not them. If it really is that big of a deal, then again either jailbreak or buy a droid. Again not trying to be rude or to bash anyone, but you don't need to be as upset as you are. It's just a piece of technology, 10 years from now we will all have holograms in our pockets that teleport us to mars anyhow, it's alright guys cheer up :)

We understand this. But who in the hell wants to dish out $800 for a new device every year? That's not right at all. Especially when Apple expects us to do it every year. And the fact that they try and do that to loyal customers that have been supporting them from the beginning is unnerving.

If people are going to support your business, you should be meeting them halfway. It's called good customer service. They should either be lowering their price (or at least offering REASONABLE discounts to those of us with previous devices), or giving us as many of the new software features our devices can handle. People shouldn't have to pay $400-$1000 to get the best out of their device that they've already paid a large sum of money for to begin with. Hell, I'd be willing to pay $20-$30 for a software update if it means me getting all of the features. Frankly, I'm tired of Apple being so damn money hungry.

Yes, Apple is a business. I get that %100 percent. But along with a business comes ethics. And apart of that ethics is how customers are treated. I don't think Apple's customers are being treat fair ethically. Obviously, I'm not the only one that thinks so. If the majority of customers are complaining, obviously there's a problem.

Btw, jailbreaking is nice and dandy for some people, but other people want the real thing. And it's funny how Apple is so against it, but yet they refuse to give use what we ask for. Which says something else about how much they care about their customer's satisfaction.

    This is so retarded.
    First off:
The iPad doesn't get ios 6. It's got the same processor as the iPod touch and the iPhone 4. It also has a faster one than the 3GS
Also the iPod touch 3rd geb doesn't get it? It's retarded, as it is the same as the 3GS.

    Second of all:
This is the newest generation iPod touch. Why is this getting screwed over?
