I've read some bad stuff about the bose. Such that they look better and are marketed better than they actually sound.

I do not know your price range but I have heard getting ear phones in the just under $100 range is good for an ipod owner since they will have excellent quality, while not costing as much as the professional quality in the $500 range and the cheap crap made int he $20-40 range.

Personally I am looking at the Shure SE110.

I think anything under $50 will not be worth replacing the basic white head phones that come with the ipod.

Few hours ago I bought "V-moda vibe" for my iptouch & I`m so amazed with the quality, although I had to pay little bit higher price than the apple store (I bought for 16,000, apple store price 14,800 yen).

I bought a pair of $2 in-ear noise ipod earbuds (china knockoffs).
