So I need to know which guitar amplifier would be louder:
    A 2x12 combo amp, 200-watt at 4 ohms
    Or a 4x12 half-stack, 100-watt at 8 ohms?

Just so you know, this is NOT how I am deciding what amp I am going to buy - I already own the 2x12 combo, and me and my friend were arguing about which one is louder. Could some tech-savvy people shed some light on the subject?

That's not necessarily true or untrue. Yes, more speakers move more air, but that 100W extra on the combo can probably more than make up for it.

Are both of these amplifiers solid state, or is one tube?
