I just need a .zip file so I can manually reinstall installer.app, I can't find any of the regular stable version to download..just the beta one.

also, is there something i need to type into the command line after manually installing an app? I installed mobilecast but it just crashes to the springboard when i try to start it.

    chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
    chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app

for my other app, mobilecast, do I just replace everything that says installer with ''mobilecast"?

Yes, and change 4755 to 755. Second one isn't needed.

    Just
    chmod 755 /Applications/MobileCast/MobileCast

Did it work if it says operation not permitted?

    Apparently not.

Just go the simpler route and right-click on the application folder and set to 755 (check recursively)
