ok so i was wondering where i should buy my new ipod touch, the apple store or best buy. I'm asking this because i hear sometimes products directly from apple have defects, and the last ipod i got was from best buy, and it had no problems.

Wherever is cheapest. It's the same product minus a free engraving.

Apple you will more than likely get the best support there
and as far as being defected directly from apple, i wouldnt worry bout it

Well they are both in staten island, like 5 minutes apart. I was worried more about which is more reliable.

So Apple sell defects to their customers, and then sell perfect ones to their resellers?
Which would mean that they start to lose customers...
Just buy it from Apple, they have more knowledge and offer more help and support.

Buy it from Apple. They can often set it up for you in store and show you some things about it. Better support for them too.

Where in the world did you come up with this? You will probably believe anything anyone tells you as long as it is not from a reliable source.

I am not a reliable source. You are an idiot.
