OK...so I just got my iPT 4 this afternoon....and I'm already having some issues with the wifi. Sometimes the internet will barely move at all and becomes really slow.

But I wanna know, where the Wifi is located exactly on the device? I recently put a piece of felt on the back of the iPod, so it wouldn't get scratched. (I don't have a case yet). Could that be blocking the wifi??
  2. Try resetting the router and modem.

Well, it wouldn't be that. Internet works fine on my Mac.

Try resetting the network settings on your iPod.

Is it possible the felt is blocking the Wifi???

As I said, its only the iPod thats really slow.

I have a clear skin covering the entire back + a TPU case and the wifi is really fast for me. Either whatever you're covering it with is screwing it up or your iPod Touch is defective.

If your router supports wireless N, turn off the B/G/N mode and go to either N ONLY or B/G mode.
