I will buy a MacBook Pro this year - I'm sure of it. But to save myself the £120 it costs Apple to upgrade from 2x 1GB sticks to 2x 2GB, I've decided to buy RAM from a 3rd party seller. However - I don't know what I'm looking for, what's compatible, and which companies give bigger and better boosts. Am I looking for Intel Memory or NVDIA, or doesn't it make a difference? http://www.corsair.com/partners/default.aspx?p=nvidia http://www.corsair.com/partners/default.aspx?p=intel So I'd like to just ask you guys and get a database of sites I can use for the future. (USA sites too if they ship Internationally - Because that'll be a lot cheaper) Thanks
Get RAM from Crucial. They're quite cheap, 67 bucks for 4 GB of RAM. They even have something you can use to make sure you get the right RAM.
67 bucks?! That's like £30! lol! Thanks - I'll look now. EDIT: Yeah the $67 one is DDR2. The DDR3 I found was £80 though which is still better than £120
as Teslanaut said get your RAM from Crucial i have just recently installed RAM into my mac mini from there and we have done a powerbook upgrade and a 2nd gen imac upgrade and they are all fine, also there quite cheap
