iOS 3.1 Where did these hackers and dev teamers start?

    Like how do they know what they're doing when the develop a jailbreak. Did they start out learning C or C++ and kinda grew from there? I would like to do what they do but where should I start?

    Everyone starts somewhere... Geohot took most of the credit for the first unlock, that's when most of the competition started..

    A good knowledge of computer science is required. I'd say the rest is a 'pick up as you go along' affair.

    As for starting yourself, no offense, but don't even try.

    yeah i just have a hunger for knowledge thats all. im not trying to be famous or get attention. i just love doing little experiments.... thats all.

    What the hell is it with people discouraging others so much when it comes to learning to be a Dev?

    Get down off your f***ing high horses, and realize that everyone needs to start somewhere. You have absolutely no place to be telling someone to not even bother trying to learn something.

    The OP is simply stating that he wants to learn, and your response is just to discourage him? That's completely uncalled for.
