WHEN YOU WANT TO RESTORE, AND JAILBREAK...

When you want to restore on because you have problems, hate iTunes

, and don't want to lose all your data (like me), Here is a quick guide...
NOTE: There might be a few programs I am not aware of. If there is: this is the manual way for people who just like the old days...

    1. Download and install iPhoneBrowser

    2. Open and connect your iPod/iPhone

    3. Backup the following, you can pick and choose what to want to backup.
TIP: If you don't know how to back-up, right-click and backup.

    3a: Safari Bookmarks:
    Move to private/var/mobile/library/safari
    Backup "Bookmarks.plist"

    3b: Your pictures:
    Move to private/var/mobile/media/DCIM/100APPLE/
    Backup ".MISC"

    3c: Notes:
    Move to private/var/mobile/library/Notes
    Backup both files.
NOTE: It is not recommended to backup your apps (Cydia and App Store alike), but you might want to try it if you have a lot of time.

    4: Upgrade and rejailbreak.

    5. Reopen iPhoneBrowser if you closed it.

    6. Press Functions --> Show Backup

    7. Place them in the addresses they are supposed to be in.

    8. Restart.

    9. Check all the programs to see if they loaded all the files...

    10. Download BossPrefs from Cydia and fix permissions (if needed). Done!

There is a much easier way than that it's called isafecopy. It's so much easier there's no moving files it backs it all up for you including themes, mxtube vids, ringtones, cydia apps and more. If you want to know more just ask

The 30 day trial is free all you need to do is get the trial version backup the jailbroken data view it's folder and copy it into another folder on your computer and then ssh it in if you pass the 30 days. If you don't pass the 30 days you can hit the restore button on isafecopy and it puts it all back on for you. -this is a free way
