itunes for Windows is really slow and laggy and uses large amounts of RAM on most PCs. That's because it's coded to use one thread/core. So unless you have an Intel i-series CPU with single thread turboBoost or a very high clocked (3.6-3.8 GHz) single core CPU, itunes will perform badly. Most machines/laptops these days have over 2.0 GHz dual core processors, and many desktops now have quad-core CPUs, from AMD and Intel Core 2 Quads, which do not have single thread turbo boost. when will Apple start to optimize itunes for windows to use at least 2 threads? Most people have dual core CPUs, and it would really help simplify their user experience.
