What's the point of unlocking an iPhone?

    What's the point of unlocking an iPhone? Does it make your service plan cheaper? Seriously, I don't get it.

    It allows you to activate your phone with a different wireless provider. I guess it could get cheaper if the other provider is cheaper.

    Because AT&T is a horrible carrier and so people want something more reliable, such as T-mobile and Verizon.

    Last i checked, you cant use the iphone on Verizon 0.o

    Not that Verizon works with ANY modification to ANY iPhone (yet)
