I read that the new blackra1n jailbreak is only tethered, so what does this mean? Do i have restrictions?

Every time you turn your iPod completely off, you need to use Blackra1n to reboot it.

Other than that, there isn't any restrictions.

This "tethered" method isn't that bad, and I hardly restart my iPod, so I recommend jailbreaking anyways because the good outweighs the bad.

A full jailbreak means you can restart your iPod and boot it up without any external devices.

ooh okay, so if I turn my ipod off completely, and turn it on the jailbreak will be gone? Or do i need to run blackra1n to even turn it back on again?

The jailbreak remains along with all of your data, it just needs a "push" from blackra1n to turn on.

No one knows that yet, the dev teams are actively researching it at the moment. Any news on the untethered 3G jailbreak will be posted here.

And putting it standby mode doesn't turn the iPod off.

    ^Hmm.. ok..
Standby mode means just pressing the Power button on the iPod once, right? And doesn't it use the battery?

    Yea, but slowly.
I basically charge my ipod every night and it is good for the day if I just listen to music
