It is like the most simple application that doesn't even need to be on an ipod. Every day at school all I hear is Dave! DID YOU GET WIFINDER. IT FINDS WIFI NEEEER U! I always say, omg stupid emo kids, STFU!!!!!! Get away, I have settings, it shows me wifi near me. OK?!? STFU.

Is there something I am missing about this app??

It picks up WiFi that the default WiFi mechanism doesn't. There are many places I have been that the default iPod won't sense, but with the WiFinder app, it picks it up.

I don't know how or why, it's just what I have experienced.

I don't use it either, it's right in the Settings application... It's not hard to tell what networks are locked, there's a lock icon right next to it!

Does it allow you to login to a secured network in the event that I know the network password?
WiFinder doesn't have this feature, and reading the reviews on WifiTrak, it doesn't seem to have it either... but it could have been updated.

    Thanks in advance.

It like, auto finds wifi near you and makes noises.

Not sure. Haven't tried it. But, it is a little better at looking for networks than the original scanner.
