What's the goods about jailbreaking instead of <muffins>
Personally, I like themes, emulators, stack, and backgrounder.
What is emulators for example and stack?
emulators are well, like running game boy games etc on your ipod with it. so you could say that they are like having an game boy on your ipod
And stack lets you have a "stack" of applications on your dock.
Jailbreaking allows you to customize your iPod's appearance (background, lockscreen, battery, new sliders, etc.).
That's what I use it for anyway.
I've heard that you can get all these games and apps for free, but I've never come across any of that mumbo jumbo.
jailbreaking gives you complete access and control and customization of your iPod/iPhone. Using cydia and rock you can install hundreds of packages from graphic tweaks to themes and also you can add more function to your iDevice. Also you can SSH or use iPhone Folders to access your device and change anything you want.
You can change the "hosts" file allowing you to block ads, you can edit themes you download to tweak them by manually replacing the PNGs provided. You can change the icons of every app whether it's a preinstalled or cydia app, or your app store apps and change plist files and the like. And you can also do things which I will not mention because it's against the rules here to discuss such things.
But you can do alot when you jailbreak.
well In My opinion the risks and hassles outweigh the benefits.
