    Hey guys,
I use SB Settings to turn off and reboot, and i was soooo tempted to push that little button that says safe mode.

    What does it do =D

It disables all mobile substrate apps (ie WinterBoard Infinidock). (what do you mean by safety connections?)

You know you are in safemode when your own springboard crashes, and Sad iPhone meets you on your lockscreen.

It basically makes your iPod unjailbroken. There are a few things that will still work in safe mode but most things are disabled. It's perfectly safe to press. Good if you need more memory for a game or something.

It just disables any extra jailbreak add-ons (mobilesubstrate). All other apps (like Notified) still work.
