Not just anecdotal evidence that we hear all the time, but a clinical way to really test battery life?

You need to have a control to base your info off of. Like Apple saying 36 hours music, you need to find the method of how they find this info and find the different methods of testing this.

Is anyone interested in doing this with me?

If I fully charge my touch for 4 hours and

    -Have brightness at 50%
    -Auto brightness off
    -Wifi off

And play a video, say IronMan with the volume at 50% would that be a suitable test? Once it's played the vid once I would play it again and keep going till the battery died.

    Any suggestions?

    • Un-Jailbroken, just with music and video. Connected to Wi-Fi.
    • A few pages of App Store applications and the above.
    • Jailbroken with a page of JB apps and the above.
    • Above and battery sucking apps and processes.

it won't last for over 10 hours while connected to wifi that's for sure
if you turn everything off (wifi, brightness, eq's, and whatever else you can turn off)
i want to see how long it will last

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm going to go and borrow my old 1g that I gave my nephew and run the 1g and the 2g side by side. I don't have IronMan anymore so I'll use Cloverfield.
