What will happen if

    As the stori goes, i hav got an old 2006 iMac wolith version10.4.7 and I don't know the admin password, will everythin be erased if I reinstall the Mac osx disk??

    Sorry for my writing I am on my iPod touch

    My assumption, as it is with windows, if you completely reinstall the whole operating system, the hard drive has to be formatted. So most likely yes, it will wipe all your information of of your HDD.

    Someone correct me if it's not the same with a Mac.

    You could get into the system via target mode if you want anything off of it; but yeah to reinstall OSX you will either have to have the password or format the HD.
