I have a set of composite video cables for a 5G iPod that ONLY output audio to the TV when plugged into my Touch. Is there any working way to output movies from the Touch to a TV without shelling out a ridiculous $50-60 for Apple's cables? Any homebrew methods or anything like that?

there is no method that can do what you want right now, because current gen ipods look for the special apple chip that allows video signals to be sent over to your TV. And i think only apple sells the required cables.

Unfortunately, for Video Out you need the composite cable available only from Apple. There were rumors that 1.1.3 and on enabled video out from the headphone jack but as far as I know those were unfounded.
