Not exactly sure how to explain this but here it goes. I want to add some .mp3 files to my iPod but when I listen to my music, I dont want them to play. Is there a jailbroken app I could download that would do this? Adding them to a playlist seemed like a good idea but then it will play these files when I listen to music. Thanks for any help

If I understand correctly, check "Skip when shuffling" under "Get info" on your songs in iTunes.

You could always SSH into your iPod and copy the mp3 files over to a folder, then use iFile to access/play the mp3 files. They won't show up in the music player or anywhere else.
