Just interested In tech side, but there is no real area for this... So, seeing that there are so many jailbreak tools, yet every one of them do universally same thing outside. But how about in system/software side: What is the thing a jailbreak needs to do to the normal system to be the jailbreak for end user's needs? Does it add files to system, modify some particular area etc. I know there Is a exploit involved what will, and will not be needed to be explained. Same thing in DS scene: If the exploit is given openly in internet the change of company fixing the exploit rises. Yet, what is the core of jailbreak, you could put like that. And yes, I am just dude who is interested to know this kind of (kind of) useless stuff.
