I'm getting this error too, have you figured it out? I certainly hope I haven't doomed my iPod to an early death

    Oh jeez..

THAT freaked me out big time. I found this post and thought "woohoo! I didn't brick my ipod somehow!" However, doing the procedure for a normal reboot didn't work when I tried it! It gave me the same error again..

So if anyone else has this problem, I put my ipod touch 2g into DFU mode again (even though it technically already was in it) and somehow, it allowed me to run the Reboot commands given in the 2G tethered jailbreak post.

Sigh... remind me to not use unsupported manual-install software again when my beloved ipod hangs in the balance!

    Hey Figster

What exactly did you do to fix?
I'm on mac but I tried to do the reboot instructions, and now I'm getting file chunk naked for the !iBSS211.dfu command. Any ideas?

The last thing I wanted to try was unplug my ipod from my mac, but after thinking and trying multiple commands, I put my ipod in DFU mode. Technically, it was already in DFU mode, but I did the keypresses again and re-ran the ./rslite command. After that I was able to run the reboot commands

was this any help? If not, sorry, but this worked for me.
