Download DVD Dycripter to decript the info and Handbreak to encrypt it to the ipod

I asked the same question on another thread, I haven't got a clear answer yet, but right now I'm ripping to .vob with dvd decrypter, converting to .avi with AutoGK (to lower quality and size of file), and then using videora to convert to H.264. I find the problem with going from dvd decrypter straight to videora, is that the movie will take ages to convert and the resulting file will be large.

I've been using Magic DVD Ripper along with Handbreak to convert to iPod format. Technically, it's not free, but it can be *cough* *******.

Handbrake for OSX. It's pretty kickass.

Handbreak all the way if you want to quickly and easily encode and convert to H.264.
Oh and did I mention it is free and I have never encountered a problem.
If you use handbreak (which I highly recommend) and come across a problem you can not correct, go to the forums many problems can be resolved by the helpful people there.

For getting the DVD onto disk where it can be converted for use on the Touch you can use one of the following:

    DVD decrypter
    AnyDVD
    DVD43

    For conversion you can use

CloneDVD Mobile (seems to only work with VOB files)
Videora (will use VOB or other video formats)
    Handbrake

As for which one gives the best results I think there are lots of opinions on that and therefore you should probably give one or more of these tools a try.
