I have noticed my 1st gen. iPod touch 8gb loosing battery life while shut off, and I did read the battery faqs. area but I have turned off the wifi before I turn it off. After a full charge yesterday, I woke up this morning and it was down to half or 3quaters. So if anyone can suggest anything else to shut down or how to shut them down, I would appreciate it and also I have a fire screensaver running when on should I just get rid of it and would that cause battery drainage?

    Thanks, The Crow.

Since it's a 1G, you could shut the whole thing off.

Noob question: how do I turn off SSH?
I was checking the running process on my ipt2g and I noticed "sshd" and "sftp-server"(or something like this). After a reboot they were gone. Should I worry about them running while I'm not doing any transfers?

Well if 1g has SBSettings then you can use that. just go to cyida and install it then when it resprings. touch and hold the status bar and slide it down. but i have a 2g.
