so i was outside in snowy conditions yesterday, and some snow may have fallen in my pocket (because there is no other explanation for what happened). I get home and take out my ipod, and it is off. I boot it up, unlock it, and it seems okay. When i checked it 5 minutes later, the screen was fully white, so i reset it, and now it won't turn on at all.

I have no idea why this has happened other than maybe it got wet. And the wrost part is that my warranty ended a week ago on Christmas...so any ideas on what i should do?

You shouldn't have used it right away because the moisture probably got to the inside and might have damaged it.

Try putting your iPod into a bowl of rice and leave it there for 24 hours - it absorbs water very well.

Warm space like an airing cupboard should do the trick.

If you powered it up while it was still wet, the internals may have fried. You should still try the rice method and you may have a chance of recovering the device.

ya ive had it in a bowl of rice for about a day and a half now, and I'm probably going to wait till tommorow to try it out. I guess all i can do is hope for the best or else I'm screwed...Thanks for the replies.

Unless it was snowing A LOT, I don't see how this happened. I use mine outside when its snowing and never had problems.

    I feel sorry.... =(
Bowl of rice is a good idea if it got wet.
Are you sure it got wet? What could also happen is it got cold. My Ipod Touch once got cold and only turned on after around 4 hours...
IF nothing works, go to apple, maybe they can recommend something... But probably not because you have no warranty....
    Sorry....

you could also set it on the dashboard of your car where the sun can hit it, it may help get the moisture out. Don't put in on a heating vent though. You don't want direct heat on it.
