hmm okay thanks. What are the advantages of stock Android over other versions? Because I'm really liking HTC Sense UI. And is the Samsung Galaxy S2 worth a look at? I don't have a good history with Samsung devices... And if not the Nexus S, HTC myTouch 4G Slide or HTC Sensation? EDIT: And I REALLY want microSD expansion on my phone, so the Nexus isn't exactly ideal...is the G2x a stock Android phone? EDIT 2: The Phones I am Still Considering (all others are out of the race) HTC Sensation OR HTC myTouch 4G Slide LG G2x OR Samsung Nexus S Samsung Galaxy S2 < Not really sure about this one...someone convince me So basically I want to know: 1. LG G2x vs Nexus S 2. HTC Sensation vs HTC myTouch 4G SLIDE Winner 1 vs Winner 2
1.) G2X 2.) HTC Sensation 3.) HTC Sensation Stock Android isn't any better in terms of functionality...it just runs a bit smoother and gives you beter battery life. It has its downsides though, like sh*tty stock apps (Mail, Camera, Media Player, etc.). HTC Sense has far better stock apps but it's a huge resource and battery hog.
Wow, Nexus S has no microSD slot...? Holy Jesus, lord of Nazareth! ...what were they thinking? Anyways, it's got sixteen gigabytes of internal memory, which would suffice for most users. Although, that is eaten up quickly by a somewhat large music collection. I have >16 GB music collection, but that's what my iPod is for But you say you need a microSD slot, so I guess I'd shy away from the Nexus S for that reason. Now that I know the microSD situation... the LG G2x wins round one. For round two, I think the only reason you'd pick the HTC myTouch 4G Slide is if you needed a keyboard. But seeing these other phones you have been considering, I see that's not true. Round two goes to the HTC Sensation 4G. Round three: G2x vs. Sensation I haven't even been considering the LG G2x for you, so this championship round here is the easiest to me. Final round goes to the HTC Sensation 4G
Thanks both of you. Regarding physical keyboards: I like them, I'd love to have one since I'm used to it, but it's not NECESSARY. Is that the only upside to the myTouch 4G Slide? The physical keyboard?
I hear the myTouch has a better camera. ...not sure if that makes a difference to you. I personally prefer no keyboard. I like a touchscreen keyboard better, feel that it's less of the phone that may break, and it makes te device overall thinner. I would personally go with the HTC Sensation 4G. You also have to figure in price.
Actually, the two have EXACTLY the same internals (including Camera). True, the myTouch camera has more features... when it comes to price: Sensation: $119.99 myTouch 4G Slide: $149.99
Well they're the same price from Tmobile ($199.99), bu at Target, the myTouch 4G Slide is $149.99 and Sensation is $119.99
