I've searched, and I'm still confused. What language should I write programs in so I can give the program to anyone without them hving to install any runtime to run the program? (on the touch) I don't have a pc, but I have terminal and textedit.app Is it possible to write apps and run them on the touch? Without a pc? And what language should I use? Odjective c? Java? And is it possible to put a copy of a program on the touch and port it right there on the touch? I really need some info. And if I write a program in python, how do I make it so anyone can run it without installing python?

whatever compiles with gcc, will be a 'native' app on the iphone (i.e. not being run by an interpreter such as jiggy, php or others)

afaik Objective-C and C are natively supported by gcc

dunno about C++ but it should too

You can use OBJ-C, C, or C++. Youll need to build the mac toolchain first
