Cuz it doesn't smudge and doesn't scratch as easily and feels/looks cleaner. Plus if you're ipod is already scratched a bit, you can even it out. If you get a scratch remover you're just going to get more scratches again..

Yeah but you can undo a jailbreak, you can't undo thousands of intentional scratches.

Apparently, no, the warranty will not be void.

But then again, that was four years ago. For all we know, Apple might have changed their minds about brushing the backside of the iPods.

Apple said that this will NOT void the warenty. There was a link in another brushing iPod Touch thread.

Void what?? The "warranty"?? You mean that 90 day worthless thing every company throws on top of a product? I don't mean to sound harsh, but unless you purchased some sort of extended warranty, you've got nothing to lose.

ok, I am thinking of doing this, what sticker do you use, any ol vinyl? Just sticky back plastic or somin? I can imagine it being pulled up by the sandpaper.

You should use some heavy duty stuff so it doesn't pull up or get sanded down even.

Also the warranty thing, "Apple" might have said that but try going to an apple store and showing them, they're not going to say, "he brushed his ipod and apple said that was okay".
