Are there any significant advantages or disadvantages to jailbreaking?

    After jailbreaking...

Will I still be able to sync my iPod with iTunes ?
Can I still purchase apps from the App Store?

Advantages: More applications, more functionality, run unsigned code, themes etc

    Disadvantages: Little lower battery life

One more question, is there anything that I was previously able to be done on an un-jailbroken iPT but cannot be done on a jailbroken iPT?

When you jailbreak, you can install apps which will run as background processes (for example SBSettings). With more background processes running, you need more battery power. More battery power means a shortened life span...

I assume that if you did jailbreak and did nothing else your battery life would remain the same but then what would be the point of jailbreaking in the first place?
