As someone said Limera1n JB hacktivates the phone, what does hacktivate mean ?

Does it Jailbreaks and Unlocks the device at a same time?

    One out of topic question:
My current baseband is 05.13, if i use Greenpois0n JB, can i use ultrasn0w??? or do i need to use TinyUmbrellla?

    p.s current i m on iOS 4.0, unlocked with ultrasn0w

Hacktivate means the software activates the phone without an official (AT&T in the US) SIM card.

4.1 introduces a new, currently unlockable baseband so you'll need to use TinyUmbrella to preserve your current one.

Normally when updating or restoring you need to pop an AT&T in to activate the phone.

Hacktivating does this without an AT&T sim.

Normally hacktivating is used by people who don't have an AT&T simcard.

Does this actually work with a 3GS? I've only seen it mentioned for iPhone 4 so far.

You've waited this long, You might as well wait until Sunday and see if PwnageTool gets released to be absolutely sure you are preserving your baseband.

All hactivating does is get you past the Emergency Screen, Usually you need a AT&T sim or a phonebook sim to get past that screen.

Unlocking involves specific basebands and ultrasn0w.

No it wont, this only works on iphone 4 because the baseband has SHSH blobs of it's own so by blocking them you block the "upgrade".

    Older phones dont have this.
