    They didnt release them at the same time, its like using all of your materials before you go get new ones

    It's a bootrom update. They did that to stop jailbreakers. It worked, until so far.

    MA=1G iPod Touch
    MB=2G iPod Touch
    MC=3G iPod Touch
    MD=4G iPod Touch?

    Each one has a new bootrom, each one is the new iPod.

    MC = iPhone 4.
    MD = not 100% sure to be 4G iPod Touch. They'll probably won't release an update until a jailbreak comes out, but I am wondering if anyone would until the 4G is released.

    I was just doing that in relation to iPod Touches, not iPhones. It will be most likely if they continue this pattern.

    Yes of course, but it is b/c it gets jailbroken, not because they just want to build a new bootrom every time. the new bootroms cover the holes the older bootroms were having, to prevent jailbreaking. If teh jailbreak isn't released yet, they do not know of the hole. (they do, but not know which), and they won't release an update.

    MC is Apple's third generation of the bootrom in my opinion.
