Hello I was wonderng how I could speed up my laptop a little. It freezes a little very now and again and can be slow and unresponsive at times.

I have 2GB of RAM and only 50% is used (I have vista)
    I have a Intel Core2Duo 1.83 GHZ processor and nVidia 8400m (256mb) graphics card.

Could any of my hardware be preventing my laptop from running fast and being fully responsive? Or is there anything else I can add or do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Aren't downgrades free?

Anyway try defragging, cirus cleaner, delete files you don't need. More RAM.
Although going back to XP will increase the speed UNDENIEBLY
