What is SSH and SFTP?

    They are methods of accessing other computers/devices across the internet, or something like that.
    SSH can be done with putty, i use this mainly to change permissions, while SFTP can be done with WinSCP, this is used to copy files to the touch.

    I hope i didnt write nonsense...

    correct, but not entirely, u are assuming jbeile has a pc,

    ssh stand for secure shell and is the way of executing all the commands that people refer to not that you cannot transfer files through ssh can be used in terminal

    sftp stands for secure file transfer protocol and is a way to transfer files on a mac u can get to it by using fugu, cyberduck, transmit or any other program like that

    scp stands for secure copy and is relatively more advanced than sftp, it can handle folders as well as files, it is where the name winSCP comes from.

    note that although these are different protocols, they engulf the entire protocol of ssh, once ssh is enabled, so is scp and sftp.

    also i really dont think you should be trying to do stuff like this with your ipod if you have never heard of sftp and ssh before
