iOS 3.1 What is it that makes the iPod not turn back on?

    Ok, so i've heard about a "Tethered" jailbreak and all, and this means that when the iPod is turned off it wont turn back on(for those who didnt know). What im wondering is: what actually makes the iPod not turn back on? Whats keeping it from turning back on other than the "jailbreak"? Does the logic board mess up or something? Im consued

    The exploit in the bootloader that was in older hardware isn't in this new revision, so until a new bootloader exploit is found, a program (blackra1n) will have to be used to force the device out of recovery mode to boot.

    Btw, turning it off means when you hold the top button for 10 secs and do "close" or however it's called in English, me it's in French.

    Turning it off isn't when you just close the screen (clicking the top button), one of my friend thought that

    when you boot up the 3g it will be in recovery mode and all blackra1n does is force the ipod out of recovery mode. the ipod does turn on.
