What is DONE in the process of jailbreaking.

    I saw this post a while back, so I figured Id repost it cause nobody really answered the question, and im REALLY curious myself.

    I know it makes it able to install non-Apple signed applications, (3rd party).

    But what is DONE while redsn0w is running, whats DONE to it to make this able to happen.

    Its a pretty good question.

    Hm, If I can remember. It patches a kernel to allow the iPod/iPhone run 3rd party Programs and extensions.
    That's why sometimes it takes the iPod a bit longer to load, it's a patched kernel.
    And some more bootloaders and stuff I think. Then it installs the packages like Cydia or Icy.
