what if you put a copy of springboard.app into your applications folder, added an icon.png to it, then launched it from your springboard? would it open an entirely new springboard? would it be an exact copy of your springboard? that might be interesting to try, but I dont want to kill my ipod

Whoa that'd be sweet, like dual moniters on a PC!

Flick up and down to switch between them.

now that I think about it, if this app was to actually LAUNCH from a springboard (apple designed springboard.app to launch on boot, never added anything to allow springboard launch) then it could have some major implications - different icon order, different hide/show apps, hidden apps (springboard cant be closed with a press of the home button, because the home button opens the springboard...so that means you could put some secret apps on your original spingboard page, then launch springboard app and have those apps hiddedn untill you reboot your ipod)

I tried this kind of thing before...

Didn't turn out too well unfortunately

When I clicked it on my springboard, an inter dimensional rift opened, and a bunch of alien things came out!

    They called themselves "Vortigaunts"

They told me, that my iPod had opened similar rifts all across my town!
I got outside, and a bunch of headcrab zombies were eating my neighbors!

Then, this weird guy with in a blue suit, and red tie appeared to me. He had grayish hair, and carried this briefcase, he spoke to me in this really strange monotone voice. He sounded like a speak-and-spell!

And he said to me in a low, eerie voice

"Rise and shine, mr. AngelSynth, rise and... shine... Not to imply that you have been sleeping on the job. The right man, in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. so wake up, wake up and smell the ashes..."

then, I woke up in my bed, and the app was gone from my iPod...

Has anyone else had this same problem? does it have anything to do with the firmware I'm on?
