What if the iPod 3G isn't jailbreakable. If I remember correctly, it took a while to get the jailbreak on the 2G model.
I remember reading somewhere that the jailbreak is on a hardware level thats why they cant fix it through software updates, but what if they fix it in the hardware update.
If the 3G ipod even exists.....
If it's not jailbreakable I will be very sad

    what?

If the jailbreak was on a hardware level you would have to mod the hardware?
    :/
what I mean is the way you say it is that if someone wanted to jailbreak their ipod they would need a mod chip or something and that's not the case.

I doubt that the next iPod will be unjailbreakable.

It probably won't be unjailbreakable, but the issue is going to be is bypassing the app check, which checks for Apple Signed App's, which stops Cydia and any other third party app from working so in a sense it's not jailbreakable just yet.

    Oh my bad.
    That app check sounds tricky
But I have faith in the guys who create the jailbreak.
You would still be able to install tweaks though right? Like things that aren't necesarilly an app, like 5-column springboard.

There is a flaw with everything. The only reason the jailbreak for the 2G took so long was that the Dev Team wanted to get the 3G unlock out first, then they wanted to wait to see if the next iPhone would work with the 2G jailbreak.

Oh wow, I never knew that
I just thought it was trickier on the 2G.

And btw: I googled and found one source where it says the jailbreak is on a hardware level: http://thebigboss.org/2009/06/28/iphone-3gs-jailbreak-delayed/

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. There are holes in everything no matter how good it is and it will just be a matter of time before the dev team finds them.

Almost all jailbreaks are on the hardware level. Except for some 1.x.x firmwares I think.

An unjailbreakable device.... i never think we will see the day, the intelligence of the iphone dev team will always find i flaw in apples software/hardware, although, i fear eventually, all these loop holes will be patched....
