When a new firmware comes out for the ipod touch, what will happen when we install the update? Will our ipods still be jailbroken? WIll we still have the iphone applications weve installed?

No, you will have to rejailbreak your ipod if it is even possible. Applications might be there still.

I doubt any update would brick a jailbroken ipod, but it will most definetely block the safari exploit and third party apps. I won't update until an exploit is found in the new firmware which allows for the same level of access as the current one.

Someone needs to write a program where we can restore to 1.1.1 WITHOUT Itunes. Then we will always be able to restore to factory, and we will always be able to use the TIFF exploit. This needs to be done quickly. I wish I knew more about programming.

When a new update comes out, its as if we all restored our iPods then synced them.
