    Hey guys,

I recently jailbroke my ipod touch 16gb and its perfect.

Question is, My dad wants me to do the same to his and am wondering. In a few weeks time if apple release a new firmware version will this brick both ipods?

The reason for asking is because im willing to risk mine but not my dads. I really dont want to do that tiff exploit thing.

you will have to wait and see what happens, no one knows, but you can always turn updates off.

Theres another thread the same as this in the "iPod Touch Mods" section.

Your best bet is if you restore before iTunes finds out about the update (by unplugging your internet connection). But yes, you will be fine as long as you restore it.

can't you download the 1.1.1 firmware, and keep a copy of it on your computer, so when you need it, itunes just pulls from that instead of downloading it?

    so....

so if you jailbreak your ipod, and restore it... then update to 1.1.2, it will be fine ?

...because I jailbroke my touch for NES and the thing where I had to put in my IP never did work, so I restored it.

So again, will I be fine once 1.1.2 comes out if I have already restored it ?
