Ok, if I have a jailbreak everything happy and stuff and press update to 4.1 will I get to keep cydia, since this hasn't been asked I wanted to know if it works, I think it wouldn't or else we'd all be trying it so do I have to restore to 4.1 and then restore from backup?

Another question, will it be harmful if I update to 4.1 with restore and use a backup?

Could be wrong, but I believe updating removes everything from your iPod/iPhone..including the jailbreak itself aswell as everything else..

Restoring wipes everything clean including apps. If you restore from a backup you keep some stuff like app saves, photos, contacts, aswell as system prefferences.

If you update nothing is touched like apps, photos, contacts, ect.

Doing both things get rid of Cydia btw.
