What exactly is the purpose for dumping the ipod touch 2g's filesystem?

    Chronic Dev has acquired the dump of the ipod touch 2g's filesystem. But what exactly does this mean, and how does this help with the jailbreak??? thanks!

    No, I only get mad at comments like that. That does absolutely nothing to help the author of this post. It's completely irrelevant to the topic.

    To the Original Poster: Basically, Chronic has gained access to a complete roadmap of all of the software and operating components that run the iPod Touch. Now they have to pick through all of those files to try to locate an exploit.

    This is really good news, having an actual copy of all the system files is great for examining for an exploit.

    I agree 100%, I have been on this board for a few weeks. I am trying to learn as much as I can about the 2nd gen Touch and every thread I read there is some idiot making a new guy feel like they have a first grade edumakation. If I have a question I will use the search button, if it is not answered I will make a new topic, all the @sshats dont need to reply with bs comments, reply with an answer or dont read.
