What ever happend to "userland"?

    1.x called. It wanted it's userland jailbreak back.

    That's where it went.

    Userland != browser.

    Userland means it's a bug in software that can be easily patched.

    But that would make blackra1n userland right? I thought this ment we were able to do it like jailbreakme.com. People were saying this was the first userland jailbreak since 1.1.1...

    It IS the first userland jailbreak since about 1.1.x, userland does not mean being ran from browser.

    Blackra1n is not userland as it exploits the boot rom.

    OHHH.. I get it now. ha. sorry. I read on another thread that it would be ran ON the ipod itself..

    theoretically it can be made to be run on the ipod itself, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth.
