I don't like the idea of managing my tasks, I have the feeling that I HAVE TO kill some processes by time in order to save some battery live -.-

Keep in mind most of apps will be only freezed and won't take any memory or battery :>

It still bothers because if I forget it does this I now have almost every app running in the backround..

Agreed. I ALWAYS need to make sure nothing is running so my iPhone is fast and snappy.

You get used to it running that way. I know I have. Instead of just locking it, I'll close all the apps first.

I still don't think it's the best way to do things.

It probably isn't the best way. Especially when you consider that other OS's (Android, webOS) were built with multitasking in mind. iPhone OS is having it tacked on.

So basically, take what you get. If it works really well, that's great. If not, well, it's still better than nothing. That's how I'm viewing this whole thing.

If apple was smart, they'd have future proofed the OS by adding multitasking in 1.0. Even if it was very limited, they could have built upon it later on, adding a more robust system in place.

Still, well see, as absolutely no apps are utilizing the mtitasking API's yet.

I don't believe Apple ever thought that the iPhone OS would EVER come as far as it has now. They are good enough to make the most out of multitasking even though it hasn't been there from the start. Also, I don't think iPhone OS should be compared to Palm WebOS. They're 2 completely different types of operating systems.
