My daughters ipod touch gen 2 has a black screen but itunes does recognize it. I have tried holding the home and sleep button. I have restored it although, i only have my computers word for it, because, i still have a black screen. posted a thread elsewhere and they said i am screwed, but how does the computer recognize it if it is dead.

well if your computer can still see it and you did a restore, then you can probably send it to apple.

Did the screen show anything when you where restoring?

Weird, maybe the screen is busted. Has anyone dropped it or something? If it's still under warranty, bring it to Apple. Actually, bring it to them anyways, maybe they will know what's wrong with it.
