not to make a dead horse even deader but the cats out of the bag that there is a 3g ipod touch coming out.(just look on the home page)

But what does it mean for all the 2nd gen touches.
How much will the value drop?
Will they stop making new games for the 2g?
Will apple quit making updates for the 2g?

    just wondering...

oh also how easy will they be to sell? anyone who had experience selling 1st gen when 2g came out? will the 2g be much harder to sell than it is now?

well all the updates will still work on the 2G. but some features might not work if apple adds a mic to the 3G.

    games will still work.

not much will change for us.

Yeah, there may be a camera and / or mic or other new stuff that isn't in the old one but firmware updates will work for quite some time. It would have been easier to sell before all the people not following the iPod scene found out and it'll be even harder after its been announced and EVERYBODY hears.

I tried to do DFU recently at an Apple Store and it didn't detect it either. I think I read somewhere about Apple changing the way iPods communicate with Mac.

I still have a 1g and all things work on my iPod, and it still will when the 3g comes out.
We will have firmware upgrades etc etc that will make everything work perfectly.
