A picture showing a bin full of 'iPhone 5C' packaging was posted to Chinese website WeiPhone and discovered by Nowhereelse.fr this weekend, and speculation suggests that it relates to the low-priced, plastic iPhone that is expected to debut later this year. So, what does iPhone 5C stand for?

My guesses alongside some humorous predictions I've read elsewhere:
    • iPhone 5C (Color)
    • iPhone 5C (Cheap)
    • iPhone 5C (Cook)
    • iPhone 5C (China)

At first I was thinking China (saw it on 9to5mac), but polyCarbonate sounds more realistic.

I hope it isn't a China only phone :( I might be tempted to buy one in the future (after college).

Apple is going to make a killing if they brand it as the iPhone 5.

I was thinking Cheap but Color would make more sense.

Guys. There are three potential scenarios here.

    1. This is the iPhone 5C - C for "Color" ... polyCarbonate? No. Cheap? No. California? No. Apple wants their products to be well branded. They aren't going to name a product after a word such as "cheap" which comes with negative connotation. They aren't going to put "C" in the name of the product to stand for a word that starts with "P". They aren't going to name a model of the iPhone after a state.
    2. This is the new Russian packaging for the iPhone 5S. Apple just started retail operations in Russia, and there is no letter "S" in Cyrillic, it's "C" instead.
    3. This is a Chinese knockoff and the "C" stands for "China" or something else stupid.
That's it. No other potential scenarios. Sorry. I think the second is the most plausible here.

*If* these packages are legitimately from Apple, then it definitely stands for color. The last thing Apple wants customers to think about is having a 'cheap' device. If anything, they want 'affordable,' but never 'cheap.' When you hear cheap, you just think of some Samsung feature phone or something. "Look at all the money I'm saving! And it only turns itself off six times per day!"

Okay, also I didn't realize Russia's letter S is actually C. That sounds more likely, actually.
